Before anything else, I want to thank the US Scouting Service Project and their “Eagle, Summit, Quartermaster, and Gold Congratulation Letters” page. It provided an invaluable foundation and a starting point for building this resource. Their page remains a great reference, but it has not been updated since early 2024, and contact information, especially for elected officials and government offices, can change quickly. I felt an updated, actively maintained resource would be helpful for families and Scouts navigating this process today.
I also identified additional individuals and organizations worth contacting that are not relevant to Scouting.
You may choose to send either a personalized message or use a form letter when requesting recognition. Examples can be found online, and AI tools can help you craft messages that are easy to customize for each recipient. An example template is at the bottom of this page.
The people, businesses and organizations listed on the website fall into one of three categories:
• I have personally received a response from them,
• I have seen verified reports online from others who received a response, or
• The organization or person’s mission and history strongly suggest they are likely to send recognition.
Even so, patience is important. Some responses may take weeks or even months to arrive. Contact information can change, and just because a successful response was previously received, does not mean the respondent may pause or discontinue sending letters. Email deliver ability can also vary, some providers may flag messages as spam, so you can also try using an alternate email account if you receive a bounce back.
This page primarily compiles those who use email or website contact forms in order to request recognition. I plan to expand this page to those that require a letter to be sent and will be incorporating those in the future.
If you have verified contacts or successful experiences that could help others, please reach out using the form below. I’m always happy to add reliable new information to this page.
Eagle Scout Congratulatory Letter Request Template
Special Note & Why This Matters:
I created this website to help families and Scouts identify which individuals, companies, and organizations provide letters of recognition for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Its purpose is honoring achievement, celebrating character, and connecting Scouts with people they genuinely admire.
This directory was never intended to be used as a way to request “free” merchandise, discounts, or promotional items. Because of that, I will not be listing or noting whether any organization sends swag, coupons, or products. Recognition should be requested from those a Scout respects, looks up to, or feels a meaningful connection with—not from those who might send something material.
I do not want companies or individuals who generously support Scouts to feel pressured, exploited, or taken advantage of. If people begin using this directory simply to obtain free items, those who currently offer heartfelt recognition may stop doing so altogether—and that would hurt every future Eagle Scout.
This resource exists to preserve the spirit of Scouting, to encourage authentic outreach, and to ensure that recognition remains meaningful, respectful, and earned.
Why This Matters:
Earning Eagle Scout is a milestone built on service, leadership, integrity, and personal growth. The recognition letters that Scouts receive are meaningful because they reflect those values. When outreach is driven by admiration — not by the hope of receiving something free — it preserves the authenticity of the achievement and the sincerity of the response.
This website exists to protect that spirit.
It ensures that recognition remains honest, respectful, and worthy of the rank itself. It also helps maintain the trust of the individuals and organizations who take the time to honor Scouts. When their generosity is respected, they are far more likely to continue supporting future Eagles.
